Criminals
Criminals, as in persons convicted of a crime and sentenced to prison, do not deserve any luxuries at my expense. I just finished reading an article about a trial that just concluded regarding a man who is suing the Correction Department (not once, but twice) for a sex change operation. His basis is that in refusing to pay for his sex change operation, the Correction Department is violating his Eighth Amendment Constitutional Right against cruel and unusual punishment. As I said, this is not the first time he has sued regarding his sex. Originally, he succeeded in persuading a judge into approving ‘Gender Identity Therapy,’ which included hormone treatments, laser hair removal and psychotherapy. But alas, all that expensive treatment did not relieve his anxiety. He needs the full kibosh, a complete sex change surgery that could cost $20,000. This is a man who strangled his wife. He is in prison for the rest of his life. Not even taking into consideration that he is a convicted murderer, what he is requesting is a surgery that most insurance company’s term elective. It is not covered by insurance so normal law-abiding citizens endure years of saving, anticipation, ridicule and scrutiny for this surgery. You know what I think is cruel and unusual, dying by your husband’s strangling hands for spilling tea on him. Cruel and unusual punishment is working 40 plus hours a week to have taxes taken out of your hourly/salary wages to pay for some half-wit sexually confused attention whore’s operation. If I want the hair on my ass removed via laser, I’ve got to pay for that.
Another death row inmate wants to die laughing. Is it just me, or does it seem like perhaps we are indulging these societal delinquents just a little too much. If you are on death row, you get a last meal and that’s all. Sexual assault, degradation, unsanitary environments and miserable surroundings are provided at no additional cost. You come in a man, you leave a man, whether it be in a body bag or by your own two feet. Criminals should get absolutely nothing. You know what kept me out of jail, repeated stories of getting nothing but bread and water to drink, sitting in a cell the size of a small apartment bathroom all day and all night. Not being able to see friends or family, guards that yelled at you, other inmates that wanted to molest you, kill you, and/or take you one slice of bread for the day. Having to sleep on mattresses probably infested with lice and bed bugs without a pillow. No books to read, no games to play, nothing to do but sit and think about why you’re there and who you have to blame for it. It is disgusting to think that criminals go to jail by their accord (don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time) only for it to be a joke. That is a complete farce! And let’s not forget that socialite princess released because of an undisclosed medical condition. Can we put some truth back into our justice system, maybe add a touch of responsibility, a dash of accountability to the penal code? Because the truth of the matter is, she could afford a nice expensive lawyer to get her pampered butt out of jail for a few days. I was under the impression that our penal code was in place to perhaps deter future crime, to ensure convicted criminals received just sentences and punishment for their crimes. It’s a complete joke to think that just because you land your ass in jail you are entitled to sex change operation, unusual requests at you execution and leniency because of your parent’s/grandparent’s money.
Throw them all in the desert, put them in pink underwear, have them sleep in a tent and maybe make them grow their own food. If you don’t grow anything, you don’t eat. They are criminals, not freaking good Samaritans.
