I have this. I just bought it; it’s red and teeny and it weighs about a nickel’s weight and it’s LOVE. In capital letters.
I used to use an archaic iPod from about 4 years ago. I always hated that piece of apple crap because: hate doesn’t need a reason, just strong feelings; it was big; the music was from four-plus years ago; it was MAC formatted and I use PCs; and I had to purchase it from my ex-boyfriend. Funny thing was, I had already purchased this iPod, for him, for his birthday, as a gift, while I was working as a shoe saleswoman and bringing home next to nil. A few weeks after I gave it to him, and he had added, like every single cd he owned (an astronomical, almost unfathomable number) he decided it wasn’t good enough because it wasn’t a VIDEO IPOD. So he SOLD it back to me. Total, the iPod cost me, like, $500 – which at the time was double my rent. Double.
I’ve been wanting to throw it on the ground and unleash my rage on its prone, white metal body with a pair of wood soled stiletto shoes, but then I’d have no portable music. So I suffered endless resentment, like a teenage mother who can’t hang out with her delinquent friends because she has a screaming newborn. Until Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:29p. I ended up purchasing this particular brand of mp3 player because the Man has Rhapsody and I wanted something compatible and he loves his enjoys mp3 player and touts the endless praise of Rhapsody. I buckled under jealousy.
Now I love Rhapsody. Every day I find a new way that Rhapsody improves my life. Like, I was reading a blog in which a woman was talking about Rob & Big, the show on MTV, most particularly about a specific scene when Rob blasts Enrique Iglesias while in a car wash and goes completely karaoke, complete with car choreography. I could hear the song in my head and I thought “Man, I’d love to hear that.” Rhapsody. I could get that song RIGHT NOW and be listening to it RIGHT NOW!
And I was responding to a text message about someone having to burp and I said ‘jump around’. Then thought “Hot damn I could be listening to THAT song right now.” RHAPSODY! And my life is so good.
